Resolutions, resolutions, resolutions! Holiday season is over, and with it, another year. As 2019 begins, we vow to leave behind our food-stuffing days, and get onto the latest fancy diet that’s trending! But do these diet fads actually take you from flab, to fab?

We took a look at some of the trending diets from the year past and tried to figure out how they worked, their advantages, side effects and the idea of making them a lifestyle.

In this video we cover everything from what these diets constitute, to what one should keep in mind while following them.Moving on from past diets like the GM, Blood group and liquid diets — we asses some new names on the list, like the Keto diet, Vegan diet and Intermittent Fasting.

The idea behind choosing to diet is health, and each diet has its own benefits. While diets like intermittent fasting cut down on stored fats, a vegan diet cuts down on your carbon footprint. Many can have adverse side effects, ranging from fatigue or irregular periods to triggering eating disorders.

Choosing a diet depends on the benefits you want from it, keeping in mind what works best for you and what is sustainable in the long run — which requires commitment. “It’s more important to have a healthy lifestyle, than to diet for a few weeks and then revert to old habits.”

Dieting for a short period of time does not help the body in the long run and most certainly not your resolution.

Opinions regarding diets are diverse. While some people might not mind sticking to a regime to get their perfect beach bod, others on the other hand might resent the idea entirely. What really matters is to choose a diet that keeps you healthy in the long run and implement it in a way that suits you best. In this video we feature the 3 top trending diets from 2018, but it’s important to do your research before committing to one.
